they say if you love it, let it go & one day if it comes back.. it was meant to be
anyone who said that is lying to themselves. how can you just "let go" of something you love? and if it comes back. what if its too late? and how does it come back? Does the person show up on your doorstep and say "yes I've been a fool this whole time. lets go back to yesterday and pick where we left off.. and of course things will be pretty picture perfect" - i doubt it.
you shouldn't have to force love. but on the other hand, they say anything worth obtaining is worth fighting for. where does the line draw? when does enough become enough? when should common sense overpower your heart? when does a person truly become a fool? are you a fool for being unable to prevent your feelings? or are your a fool since day when you fell for someone who wasn't worthy? love is this big battlefield with your mind, emotion, and heart.
how do you expect to move one when your heart is stuck in one place? how can you fall in love with another, if you were never capable of falling out of love? its pretty pathetic when someone can destroy you as a person, yet you still would be open to giving them whatevers left on a moments chance. I've been there and realization burns. love, burns like a paper cut doused in alcohol.
so you give up on love. just because one didn't follow through. and you punish every next for the previous. you cant blame yourself. you will never hurt like that again they say.. so you open the door a crack, let the next in. only to shut them right back out. but in reality your hurting yourself more and more every time. because not only are you missing out on what could quite actually be picture perfect.. your reminding yourself every time how damaged you are.

you pretty much summed it up. i guess whoever said the "if you love something..." line had their heartbroken too and was just hoping it would come back.
real thoughtful post, btw.
I feel you. I think when you let someone go it really means that attachment to holding on to them. If they walk out your life then they were for a season. If they remain then they were for lifetime.
